Stainless steel gate valves SG41 and ball valves SK41 were used for KCl solution containing crystals in a Fertilizer Plant in Minsk, Belarus
Project Requirements:
The customer required that stainless steel gate valves and ball valves must meet specific requirements to ensure durability and performance under harsh conditions. These valves need to be able to resist corrosion caused by highly corrosive environments such as potassium chloride and other chlorides, while also having better wear resistance to deal with solid particles in pipelines ranging from 5% to 35%. The material of valve components should be selected as 304 or better, with zero leakage sealing, special F-F lengthes, and some sizes requiring electric or pneumatic actuators.
Seallon`s Solutions:
● Based on the medium concentration and temperature, we had selected stainless steel 304, 316L, 321, 316Ti as the main components materials for gate valves and ball valves to meet better high temperature resistance and wear resistance;
● The sealing surfaces of parts of gate valves were welded with Stellite Alloy (STL) and Hastelloy Alloy to meet different hardness and corrosion resistance requirements;
● The connections of gate valves under electric actuator were customized by GOST55510 type В, Д;
● The connections of ball valves under pneumatic actuator were customized by ISO5211, with additional sleeves;
● According to the ISO5208 standard, strict testing had been conducted on the valve body sealing, upper sealing, sealing surface high pressure, and low pressure of all valves, and zero leakage level achieved.
