Purchase Seallon SK41-P series full-lined PFA ball valves for emergency replacement of faulty ball valves in a sulfuric acid (98% H2SO4) plant pipeline
Project Requirements:
A chemical plant near Moscow previously purchased a batch of conventional stainless steel ball valves for its 98% concentrated sulfuric acid (H2SO4) pipeline. Originally, it was considered that the inner wall of the valve would be corroded by strong acid to form a passive protective layer. However, due to actual temperature changes and switching frequencies, the corrosion of the stainless steel valve body and ball was accelerated, resulting in medium leakage and potentially causing serious consequences such as pipeline damage or injury to operators. The project department attached great importance to and convened personnel to urgently purchase a batch of high-quality ball valves, to complete replacement and resume production within two weeks.
Seallon`s Solutions:
● Considered the strong acid medium Seallon selected SK41-P full-lined ball valves, which had precision cast CF8 body and PFA lined (Tmax up to 180℃) ball, to meet higher acid resistance requirements;
● Since the pneumatic actuator previously used by the customer was working normally, we need to customize the platform and connecting shaft sleeve according to the previous actuator connection size to ensure that the customer can directly install the actuator and put it into use after receiving the valves;
● At the same time, we must expedite production for the customer, ship these ball valves within a week, deliver to the customer's production line in a timely manner, and complete valve replacement.
