Through Conduit Knife Gate Valves (SG73-C) were supplied for the Salt Mine Project in Calama, Chile
Project Requirements:
The working medium was a solid-liquid mixed slurry with a solid content of 20%, while the remainder was a saturated solution of sodium chloride and potassium chloride. Based on these conditions, supplier should recommend suitable materials for each part of the valve, to prevent the solid particles and sediment from accumulating in the body. Besides, valves and the seals need to be wear-resistant and corrosion-resistantthe. Valves should be equiped with pneumatic cylinder (air source 6 bar), with 24V limited switch, filter, solenoid valve, positioner blocks IP67.
Seallon`s Solutions:
● To solve the problem of solid sediment attached in the body, we recommend SG73-C series, which featured a bottom cover, disc with through conduit design, so that it could effectively cut off the high consistency or concentration fluids, meanwhile, the disc could effectively bring out the sediment and clean up inside;
● We selected the body and disc materials as stainless steel 316, which could offer excellent corrosion resistance against sodium chloride and potassium chloride solutions;
● Specially, the seat material, we chose ceramics due to their superior wear resistance and corrosion resistance. Additionally, seperated ceramic seat could be supplied for replacement;
● Pneumatic cylinder (air source 6 bar), with 24V limited switch, filter, solenoid valve, positioner blocks IP67 were supplied, completely met the requirements.
