Wafer butterfly valves SB71 were used for cement slurry transfer pipeline in Baku, Azerbaijan

Project Requirements:

The cement plant utilizes a short-distance slurry transfer system to convey cement slurry from a mixing tank to a storage tank. The medium is a medium-to-low concentration cement slurry at ambient temperature and relatively low pressure. For flow isolation and control, the customers asked a kind of economical valve, which can be used in this application.

Wafer butterfly valve SB71-B is the best choice for economical valves, and at the same time it has the characteristics of quick opening-shutting, easy to replace and maintain. Our task is to make a reasonable selection of the parts of the butterfly valve. 

● Body material: WCB - chosen for its mechanical strength and low temperature resistance to -29℃, meanwhile its epoxyline coating delays the corrosion;

● Disc material: CF8 - better corrosion resistance and strength than ductile iron, which greatly increases the service life;

● Seat Material: wear-resistant rubber - to ensure reliable sealing and durability against slurry abrasion. Additional seats were supplied together for replacement in the future;

● Actuator: manual handle — simple and cost-effective for low-pressure, short-distance systems.
